The Nathaniel Dodge Family
The Nathan Dodge Family came from New York State. They moved out to
Wisconsin, then to Ohio, settling on
the East Point of Middle Bass.
Daughter Ellen Webster was a
physician. Sons Lewis and Elliot
married sisters and settled on South
Bass.
Captain E.J. Dodge built the homestead which still stands between
the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club and The
Crews Nest. He received the
Carnegie Gold Metal for saving the
crew when the State of Ohio went
aground off Rattlesnake in 1906.
Descendants of the Dodge Family still reside on the Lake Erie
Islands.
